This letter concerns a typographical error in a mathematical formula contained in Anderson et al, Am Heart J. 1991;121(1 Pt 2):293-8. The cumulative density function preceding Eq. (2) should read:

As published, the equation read “P(T>t)…”. The probability in question represents the cumulative density function of a parameterized Weibull distribution for the onset of coronary heart disease. As such, it is important to read the resultant probability as “The probability that onset of CHD occurs during the interval [0,t)”, rather than “The probability that the onset of CHD occurs during the interval [t,∞).”
