We appreciate the suggestion by Dr. Jolobe regarding the potential relevance of adding socioeconomic status to Framingham Risk Scoring for stroke prediction in young adults. Whether socioeconomic status provides additional information beyond carotid intima thickness in this context is an important empirical question that warrants formal assessment with the appropriate cohort.
